Last month we visited the final stage of the Colorado Sprint Championship (CSC) to film the show and provide coverage of the event. The expected AMB results were not made available within the tight window we required as this event was squeezed into our busiest racing coverage of the year. Although the results were provided to us a few weeks ago, scheduling time to provide an updated report has only just allowed us to provide the results and begin editing the video. We sincerely apologize to those who expected the coverage sooner and hope you can understand. The CSC tour is a statewide racing championship co-operatively run at Bandimere Speedway, IMI Motorsports, Grand Junction Motor Speedway, and CRE Motorsports, with the grand finale at Steamboat Springs. This series was developed to put together fun tight racing with large fields without the expense of traveling A total of 12 classes were run, a few classes were combined for a total of 9 sessions. Practice and qualifying rounds on Saturday, with Pre- Final and Final race on Sunday. 12 classes were run at the Steamboat Springs Grand Prix;
King of the Mountain (Pro 125cc Shifter) Colorado has some top name drivers, so they brought in a "ringer" with Bobby Wilson. Bobby is planning a move to Colorado in the next month, so where better to test the Colorado racing then in the King of the Hill contest? The Pro 125cc class features a blend of ICC and Moto powered racers both at 385lbs. On the pole with a GP6 chassis and Swedetech Moto power was Sam Walls with a lap time of 38.257. Bobby Wilson with a Pavesi powered First Kart qualified second posting a 38.292, and AJ Noud third on a GP6 powered by CRS with a 38.391. In the Pre-Final Bobby got the jump on the green with Sam glued to the back bumper. The Moto has a boost coming out of the turns, where the ICC has the mid-top power, and lap after lap on the two straights Sam was working on a pass that never came together. particularly thrilling was the back straight "jump" where the only ripple in the pavement gets a kart airborne - the more on line, the more air you get! Its was Bobby, Sam and AJ. The 20 lap Final had about 18 laps of really hard racing with Sam just not having quite enough to get by. Then with Sam getting a pretty good launch coming out of one the esses with AJ right behind Sam managed to pick up a hay bale wrapper on his front tire and fell off the pace adding to Bobby's lead over the pack. Bobby Wilson collected the "King of the Hill" award with $500 cash.

Junior 1/Junior 2/60cc Novice CSC Junior 1 class features either the Briggs Animal or the Comer 80 motor at different weights. While the class structure provides a pretty even match, the Briggs Animals came out on top this day. As the lap times were comparable among the 3 Cadet kart based classes, they were run together but scored separately resulting in some exciting action on the track.
