MEMORANDUM

Date:    September 3, 2003

To:        Teams, Media and Industry

From:    Jim Murley

Re:       Continuing ’04 development

After our meeting of August 23rd in Norman, much of the feedback from the meeting and conversations the following day, fine tuning began on the proposed classes and structures as outlined.

The goal is simple, SKUSA recognizes that our sport is not single faceted and an attentive governing body will address those needs of this multi-faceted sport as it moves into the future. The challenge is finding mechanisms through which communications can flow. Meetings such as those held in Canby and Norman serve and important role in this communication but can’t happen very frequently. The next best method is through the use of electronic media such as this. Please feel free to respond in a similar manner.

As our focus narrows in on the ’04 plans I would like to distribute the results of your input as it applies to a core SKUSA class structure and resulting championships and titles. The format through which these titles will be pursued is being refined and will be presented soon. Until that time, please review the class structure below.

From the above, all ** classes are considered Pro classes and will compete for National Championships. These classes will be the backbone of the 2004 SKUSA Pro SuperSeries. Each class will deliver SKUSA National Numbers for the following season. (provided that the winner is competing in the same class) These classes will have regional participation stipulations that are yet to be finalized.

All classes denoted * above will be “Tour Sanctioned” and will participate on the ’04 Pro SuperSeries. These classes will compete for Amateur National Championships. Through a points accumulation process that will include, regional participation to a degree yet to be finalized. The Amateur National Champions may, as well, receive special “reigning champion” number plate designations.

While much more was discussed in our meeting and, much more feedback was received, the information herein is the first to reach distribution level. Again, if you have comments, please feel free to return email them
