National TAG Festival Events QUALIFYING is OPEN
IMPORTANT NOTICE
There have been many questions on the upcoming TAG National Festival events.
Some of the following information will be of assistance to you.
1. Any TAG competitor may participate in the 2003 events listed
below.
2. A TAG membership is required and may be acquired trackside at the
event if desired.
3. TAG USA Rules & Regulations will be in effect.
TAG USA 24 Hour TEAM Endurance Festival
Wed., June 25th. to Saturday, June 28th.,2003. Complete entry forms and
supplemental regulations are available and will be mailed to you at request.

track phone 870-226-3565. It is the most fun event in karting. Teams
of 5 min. to 10 max. drivers compete for 24 hours.
TAG USA National Sprint Festival
Fri., July 4 to Sunday, July 6th., 2003. As part of the annual U.S. Open at
the beautiful Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman, Oklahoma. Entry fee
for all classes is $100., driver pass must be purchased separately.
TAG Senior and TAG Masters will be run as separate classes at this event in
an effort to crown our very first true NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

2.
Engine Specifications
2.1. AIR BOX - OEM, as supplied with the engine from the
manufacturer.
2.2. CARBURETORS - As supplied from the manufacturer, jetting open.
2.3. FUEL PUMPS - Must be of diaphram pulse type, manufacturer and
location are open.
2.4. IGNITION SYSTEM - OEM, as suppliedand per factory
specifications, spark plug open.
2.5. PISTON / RINGS / BEARINGS / GASKETS - Aftermarket parts meeting
OEM dimension and material specifications are permitted.
2.6. EXHAUST SYSTEMS - Exhaust and silencers as supplied by
manufacturer, OEM. NO plating or ceramic coatings permitted.
2.7. CLUTCH - OEM , as supplied with engine from manufacturer and as
per factory specifications.
2.8. COOLING SYSTEM - Coolant may not contain any Glycal based
material. Water wetter or other surficants may be used.
2.9. INTERNAL MODIFICATION - All internal modifications of any
kind are strictly prohibited.
3. Chassis
Specifications
3.1. CHASSIS CONSTRUCTION - Round tubing only. Maximum diameter
tubing 32.0 mm.
3.2. AXLE - Maximum diameter of 50 mm.
3.3. BRAKES - Rear system only, front wheel systems are not
permitted.
3.4. BODYWORK - As per current CIK homoligation, or as per
approval by TAG USA.
3.5. CHASSIS ELIGIBILTY - As per current CIK Homoligation, or as
per approval by TAG USA.

4.1. DUROMETER READINGS - 55 Durometer hardness minimum unless
otherwise specified.

4.4. TIRE USAGE
4.4.1. SPRINT / ROAD RACING
Maximum of ONE set (four tires) per event, including official practice.
A second set (four tires) is permitted to qualified finalist in National
TAG Festival events.
4.4.2. TEAM ENDURANCE
A maximum number of sets (four tires) will be set based on the length of
the event and includes all official practice.

4.5.
SPARE TIRES - Are permitted on a one for one basis due to uncontrolled
damage. Replacement is based on competitors safety. Regular wear during
competition shall not be considered for replacement. Replacement is
permitted only by decision of the race director.
5.
Authorized Racing Equipment
5.1. MAXIMUM EQUIPMENT PERMITTED - by competitor per each event.
- Maximum ONE (1) Chassis
- Maximum TWO (2) Engines
- Maximum ONE (1) set SLICK tires
- Maximum ONE (1) set RAIN tires
- Maximum ONE (1) FRONT / ONE (1) REAR SPARE tire
* Spare tires replaced for damaged originals ONLY, as per race
director.

Equipment registered on TECHNICAL PASSPORT, marked, then used in
qualifying MUST then be used in all heats, pre-final and finals.
**
Helmet, Driver suit, neck collar, gloves must comply with current
national safety standards.
5.2. RADIO COMMUNICATION - is permitted in the EXPERT division classes
only. RACING RADIOS SP 50 complete system is recommended.
5.3. TELEMETRY - Is permitted during competition in the EXPERT division
classes only. This shall include all systems that download to a separate
computer system.
5.4. GAUGES - Tachometer, Cylinder head, Exhaust gas or water
temperature and lap timer are permitted in all classes. Memory systems are
permitted. Data display only on gauge screen. NO system that permits
downloadable data.
6.
FUEL
6.1. UNLEADED RACING GASOLINE - Of a 98 octane rating by an approved
manufacturer.
- CITGO RACING FUELS is the official supplier of TAG USA.
6.2. OIL - Use of an APPROVED lubricant in MANDENTORY . Ratio is as per
manufacturer specification.

7.
LICENSING
7.1. COMPETITION / MEMBERSHIP LICENSE - It is mandatory to hold a current
TAG USA competition license, which includes the competitors membership
number, prior to participation in any TAG sanctioned Club, Regional, Other
recognized sanctioned series, Special or National Festival event.
7.2. EXPERT COMPETITION / MEMBERSHIP LICENSE - With the exception of an
"OPEN" TAG Festival, recognized EXPERT or PRO drivers from all
sanctioning bodies, any former A level CIK driver or Professional driver
from any form of Motorsports will be limited to competition in the TAG
EXPERT classes. This shall include drivers in both the JUNIOR and SENIOR
division age groups. Application to compete at the EXPERT level shall be
considered on passed performance and on a one on one basis.
7.3. NATIONAL SANCTIONING BODIES - To participate in TAG USA recognized
programs co-sanctioned with other nationally recognized Sanctioning bodies
a competitor may be required to also hold a current competition license
with that organization.
7.4. COMPETITION AGE - To qualify, a drivers competition age shall be his
/ her age as of the date 01 / 01 / 2003.
8.
RACE EVENTS
8.1. SPRINT - Each TAG Festival event shall consist of technical
(inspection) scrutineering, practice, qualifying, heat races , pre-final and
final.
Local club and Regional series may adapt the national program to overcome a
lack of time, facility or other limitation.

TECHNICAL SCRUTINEERING - Presentation of all safety gear, race vehicle,
slick and rain tires with the technical passport to the designated
inspector at the assigned time and location. Mandatory prior to event
participation.

PRACTICE - Designated track use regulated by circuit length and event
participant level. To be determined by race organizer.

QUALIFYING - Designated event period during which the competitor is
provided a set time period, in addition to a designated warm up and cool
down distance. Number of vehicles to qualify at one time is determined by
length of circuit and timing equipment used. Fastest lap of the session to
determine the competitors heat race starting positions.

HEAT RACES - Number and size determined by total number of competitors
entered in the event. Points scored are per CIK/FIA regulation, as in
1st=0, 2nd=2, 3rd=3, etc.......to last place. Distance of each heat race
shall be 10 km in length.

PRE-FINAL RACE - Distance shall be a minimum of 15 km in length. Finishing
positions shall determine the starting positions for the finals. The
pre-final shall be considered part of the finals, a competitor MUST take
the green flag in the pre-final to take a starting position in the finals.

EVENT FINALS - Distance shall be a minimum of 20 km in length.
8.2. TEAM ENDURANCE - Each TAG Festival event shall consist of technical

individually receive FOUR (4) timed laps. The total time from all timed
laps shall be used to determine finals starting positions.

EVENT FINALS - The event is a timed event of either 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours
in length. Finishing positions determined by the greatest distance
traveled. Vehicles running on track at events end will be scored ahead of
those out of the event.
9.
ELIGIBILITY FOR TAG NATIONAL FESTIVALS
9.1. NATIONAL SPRINT FESTIVAL - Qualifying to National TAG Festivals can
be achieved by both competition and participation.
A. LOCAL CLUB LEVEL - Club racing, single circuit location - REGISTERED
WITH TAG USA
1. Local TAG class champion
2. All competitors participating in 75% of clubs scheduled seasons
events.
B. REGIONAL TOURING SERIES - Independent or sanctioned - REGISTERED WITH
TAG USA
1. Top 10 finishers in season points of the TAG class.
C. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SELECT EVENTS - TAG Selected - REGISTERED WITH
TAG USA
1. Top 5 finishers of sanctioned National Championships. (ie....IKF,
WKA, KART, SKUSA, IRA, RMC, etc.)
2. Top 5 finishers of selected Independent National events. (ie....
Rock Island Grand Prix, U.S. Open at OMC, etc.)
9.2. NATIONAL TEAM ENDURANCE FESTIVAL - Qualifying to National TAG
Festival can be achieved by both competition and participation.
A. LOCAL LEVEL - 3 or 6 hour team events - REGISTERED WITH TAG USA
1. Winner guaranteed a starting position in regional qualifyer.
2. Participant's entry guaranteed, starting position determined by
qualifying.
B. REGIONAL LEVEL - 12 hour team events - REGISTERED WITH TAG USA
1. Winner guaranteed a starting position in National TAG 24 Festival.
2. All regional participants qualify ahead of non-participants.
