Dallas, TX. – (October 20, 2004) Twenty one year old Arrow North America racing driver Michael Johnson battled his way this past weekend to a second place finish at the United States Karting National Championship held in Las Vegas, Nevada, earning a coveted spot on the United States Racing Team.

Johnson overcame 87 rivals to receive the invitation to represent the United States at the World Championships, which will be held in the Canary Island in January. The World Championship is an Olympic like event; where up and coming drivers from almost every country will vie for the title of world champion.

“To compete for the United States is an incredible honor. For a young driver who dreams of the Indy 500 and the Formula 1 world championship I can’t wait for the opportunity of competing against the best drivers in the world,” stated an enthusiastic Johnson.

During the US national championship Johnson piloted the new Arrow A-Max chassis, specifically designed for the Rotax Max engine package.

"I was really impressed with the new A-Max chassis; it was extremely quick regardless of the changing conditions and very consistent throughout the entire race. You can tell the factory really did their homework with this kart, and I absolutely believe this chassis is just as good if not better than anything coming out of Europe," stated Johnson.

A graduate of Dallas Jesuit, twenty one year old Johnson is an honor student at the University of North Texas. When not on the track Michael is also the captain of the North Texas lacrosse team and a representative of Big Brothers – Big Sisters of North Texas.
