Megenbier Selected for U.S. Team to Compete in Rotax World Finals

The young driver will travel to the Canary Islands to represent United States


CHICAGO, IL (December 21, 2004) – Timmy Megenbier, 2004 SKUSA Rotax Junior National Champion and RotaxMax Grand Nationals runner-up, has been selected to the U.S. RotaxMax team to compete against other racers from 40 other countries at the Rotax World Finals in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The event will be held January 20-22, 2005 and will crown the World Champions in Junior, International and RM1 classes for the 2004 season. Megenbier will compete in the Rotax Junior category.

 

“I am very excited for this opportunity,” said the personable Megenbier. “My team and I have worked very hard all season. It is an honor to be selected as part of the U.S. team. I want to thank my sponsors who have helped me all year. I hope to represent them and the United States well.”

 

Megenbier is one of six total drivers and one of two Junior drivers selected for the U.S. Rotax team.

 

“I am pleased to see the addition of Timmy Megenbier to the team representing the United States at the Rotax World Finals,” said Marshall Martin, U.S. Rotax Max Challenge Race Director. “He is an amazing young driver more than capable of the challenge ahead.”

 

The team will arrive in Lanzarote, Canary Islands for registration on the 16th, before being allowed two days of practice on January 18th and 19th. Initial qualifying will be held on the 20th before Heat races and Final events take place the following two days.
