KID KART RULES CLARIFICATION

Recently a few DQ's in the Kid Kart class have been attributed to wording in the KART Rulebook that could be open to interpretation.

Page 25, 1.G.14 States;

C-50 Engine Tech. NO Modifications!  Engine must remain totally stock and compared to known stock parts.  Piston rings must be present and cannot fall through cylinder.  All gaskets must be in place and in stock configuration.

In the Technical Inspection section, Page 41 section E.15 states;

Gaskets:  All stock classes, unless otherwise specified, gaskets are non-tech but must be in place.  Silicone rubber is considered a gasket material.

A call to the KART Tech Director Jim Stroud was made and Jim provided clarification that the Kid Karts require all OEM gaskets in place.  As these gaskets are specified in section 1.G.14, it will override the non-tech statement provided in section E.15.

As the gaskets have been the center of the DQ's it was felt that further clarification would help prevent future instances of DQ's.
