August 08, 2005 - Stouffville, Ontario It's the
height of summer and it has been non-stop action for 14 year old Michael
Vincec contesting a number of racing series in his Cameron Motorsports CRG
Formula Junior and Rotax karts. Competing in the Sunoco Ron Fellows
Championship (SRFKC), the Snap-On Stars of Karting (STARS), the World
Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup (WKA) and the Ontario Kart Racing
Associations Grand Nationals (OKRA), Michael has been building a strong
resume to take into the ASN Canada National Karting Championships August
12-14 at St Roch de L¹Achigan, Québec.
In July, Michael amassed an amazing seven podium finishes over eight
races. The month started with two wins at the teams home track as Michael
taking first in the feature Formula Jr. race and repeating in the Rotax
Junior class. The Rotax win solidifies his lead in the class championship.
Next on tap for Michael was the WKA Manufacturer's Cup run in South Bend,
Indiana. Coming away with two second-place finishes in the Formula Jr.
class, Michael also sits second overall in the championship of this
series.

From there, it was off to Shawano, Wisconsin for the
next round in the Eastern Region of the Stars of Karting. STARS features
some of the top names in karting from across North America and Michael and
the Cameron Motorsports team look forward to the competition. Racing at a
brand new facility, the team suffered its only setback for the month.
After a strong second-place finish on Saturday (23rd), Michael and the
team missed a perfect podium run, finishing 11th on Sunday. "A lot of
things just did not go our way on Sunday" offered Michael, "but we are
happy to still be second in the series championship and we are looking
forward to the next STARS race on home territory at Woodbine."
STARS make their only eastern Canada stop on August 19-21 at a temporary
circuit at Woodbine Racetrack located in northwest Toronto.
Wrapping up July, Michael was at Mosport on the brand new Mosport Karting
Academy track for the Ontario region championships. Known as the Bear Hunt
- named for the beautiful carved bears awarded as trophies, this event has
been a mainstay of the karting community and many of the top drivers from
across the province come to compete. Michael would be racing in both the
Formula Junior and Rotax classes. An early racing incident put him to the
back of the Formula Junior field but Michael fought his way back to third,
scoring another podium for the month. He capped the weekend with another
win in the Rotax class, bringing home one of the coveted Bears.
"The success we have had this past month has really given the team - and
myself, a really big boost," said Michael. "We are prepared for the
challenge next week in Quebec at the Canadian Nationals and are looking
forward to it." Michael is hoping his dominance in the Junior Rotax class
in Ontario will translate into a win at the National event as the Junior
Champion is invited to attend the World Championships which are taking
place this year in Malaysia.
Michael would like to thank his sponsors for their continued support which
make this all possible, Cameron Motorsports / F1-K / MMG Financial / CRG
team, Pilot Race Gear, SwedeTech Race Engines, Tri-V Manufacturing, ATC
Corral, Cosmo Communications, BIG Racing, GoDecalZone.com.
The next race will be the Canadian Nationals in St Roch de L¹Achigan,
Québec, August 12-14 and the Stars of karting event follows on the
temporary circuit at Woodbine in Toronto on August 19-21.
