"The Road to the Rock"
2005 Race Series
The winners in each of the eligible classes of The Road to the Rock Series will be awarded provisions to compete at the 2005 Rock Island Grand Prix. These provisions include;
Each class will be awarded up to $500 in Rock Island expenses. The Rock Island Grand Prix is held on Labor Day weekend September 3rd & 4th, 2005 in Rock Island, Illinois. Winners MUST partake in the Rock Island Race or forfeit the prize to the next place finisher in their class at The Road to the Rock series. The following classes will be eligible for The Road to the Rock Series;
The Road to the Rock series is open to NTK members and non-members. All racers that participate in the Road to the Rock series will need to fill out an entry form and pay a one time processing fee of $25.00. Race day fees will be $42.00 for a non-member and $27.00 for a member (driver pass included). The costs of these races are a fraction of the cost of a typical regional series as each class has sponsorship funding that comes from outside the karting industry. Class Competition Rules for The Road to the Rock will be run per the 2005 NTK Club Rules. Official NTK Competition Rules will be released in January 2005 after the annual NTK Rules meeting. The Rock Island Grand Prix (RIGP) is the largest and most celebrated street race in the world. With close to 300 entries for 14 classes in 2005, and over 25,000 spectators, this event is much more then a race, it's a celebration of Kart Racing. Every major karting magazine and website offers feature coverage of this event which every year draws on international talent for competition. As the Road to the Rock series is being held at North Texas Kartway in Denton Texas, competitors in all area's are encourage to plan on being a part of the best racing in the region. North Texas Kartways is one of the finest karting facilities in America, featuring an excellent well-illuminated .5 mile track, with one of the few very clean Air Conditioned Restrooms with hot showers.
