Running under the Stars banner, the second ICC only class of the day has
slightly different rules from SKUSA. At 375 lbs and racing on
Bridgestone YHB rubber it was Kyle Wiegand again posting a new track
record. On Mg Yellows at 380 Lbs Kyle managed a 32.020 - 5 Lbs less
with a little stickier tire Kyle managed a 31.970. It also makes him
to be the only driver to break into the 31 second barrier. Alan
Rudolph was hungry and qualified within a tenth for second starting
position.
It was clear these drivers were willing to scramble for position.
On the drop of the flag Rudolph got the holeshot into turn one with
Wiegand on his bumper. Coming back around to finish the first lap
Kyle got past Alan and set sail. Working lap 3, the kart maqnets
were switched on at turns 2 and 5 with each corner attracting and holding
3 karts each. Blam, 6 karts out. Again there was a lot of
mid-pack action with 9 karts making all 20 laps.
