K.A.R.T. ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 2005 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Raymore, MO
December 13, 2004

K.A.R.T. (Karters of America Racing Triad) has announced the sites and dates for its three divisions of karting’s 2005 National Championships events. They are:

  • Sprint--North Texas Kartway, Denton, TX. June 22 – 25, 2005
  • Speedway--Worden Park Speedway, Wellington, KS. July 28 – 31, 2005
  • Enduro--Lake Afton, Goddard, KS. Sept. 9 – 12. 2005

K.A.R.T., a not for profit organization founded in 1994, is proud to be heading into its second decade as “The karting organization founded by karters, and existing for karters.”
Of the original 14 founding members, 13 are still alive and 10 of those racers are still involved in karting regularly, (most drove karts in ‘2004).

Recently malicious and false claims have been made about K.A.R.T. and its current financial status. The words “K.A.R.T. is about to close its doors” have been stated more than once. Let us assure you nothing could be further from the truth. Some people don’t seem to understand what it means to be a not for profit organization like K.A.R.T. While others might need $20,000 a weekend in order to be interested in running a race, K.A.R.T. is not concerned with making large sums of money. We are simply stewards of the racers’ money. We are not in the business of stockpiling money, we are in the business of giving back to the karters by way of Points monies, group insurance rates and organization rules that are held constant for two years to increase competition, consistency and cut costs to the racer. With that in mind:

  • K.A.R.T. is now and always has been current on all its bills!
  • K.A.R.T. owes no debts to anyone!
  • K.A.R.T. currently has enough reserve to operate for 1+ year, if it did not receive a single penny of income during that year. (I wonder how many other businesses or organizations could keep their operations running for a year without any income?)

We run a well-oiled machine so that we can give more back to our Member/ Racers. Although some money mongers may wish to see us go away, KART is not closing its doors or folding up shop!

To the contrast of some of karting, K.A.R.T. in 2004 had increased entries over 2003. We at K.A.R.T. believe our “family” style of racing and ongoing commitments to coordinated efforts like, Mid States Enduro series, Road America and RMAX Challenge, along with future coordinated efforts with Superkarts USA will bring an increase in members and record levels of entries in 2005. Stay tuned as our ’05 schedules are in the final stages of coordination and will be released soon.
