Musser takes home 125 Senior Awards;
Fling takes home Titan Racing Trailer

December 12, 2005 DALLAS, TX It was standing room only at the Southwest Regional Cup Year-End Banquet as about 120 racers and families awaited the opportunity to receive series awards and vie for thousands of dollars in giveaways, including a race trailer donated by Titan Trailers of Kingston, Oklahoma. The banquet was held at SpeedZone in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, December 10.

³Our outstanding turnout is a testament to the success of the series,² said Rodney Berryhill of Oklahoma Motorsports Complex, one of three tracks hosting the series. ³It goes to show that when you put supportive sponsors and dedicated tracks together, racers will respond enthusiastically.²

Plaques and trophies were presented for 17 separate classes in the WKA-sanctioned series. But even more exciting to attendees were the many prizes given out during the evening, The 12-foot V-nosed Titan racing trailer was presented to Mike Fling, who also took home second place in the TaG Masters Saturday series. Evan Brown won a one-year full membership at Iron Rock Raceway, in addition to taking home an armful of awards for Junior 1, TaG Cadet and TaG Gazelle. Bridgestone gave away many sets of racing tires to lucky participants, and MRP of Austin and Champion Racing also donated numerous prizes and gift certificates.
Other SWRC cup sponsors included AIM SportsSystems (Roanoke, VA), Decalworks (Kingston, IL), Kam Karting (Rhome, TX), VP Racing Fuels (San Antonio, TX), Texas Karts (San Antonio, TX), Applied Mechanical (Austin, TX), and Innoventions (Austin, TX), all of whom helped fund the series.

In 2006, the SWRC series will host both a Spring and Summer and include two new tracks in addition to IRR and OMC. Kart RunCo, a new 0.62-mile asphalt track opening in San Antonio, Texas, will participate in the Spring series. Gulf Coast Kartways of Katy, Texas, will show off its newly expanded track in the Fall series.

³This was a great first year,² said Charlie Swayne, Iron Rock general manager, ³and itıs only going to get better. Weıve gotten excellent input from the race teams, and we look forward to an exciting 2006.²
