FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Seattle, WA (July 29, 2005): The National
Finals for the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL will be held
at the brand-new Iron Rock Raceway in Austin, TX from October 14-16 it was
announced today. The track will be run under a new configuration so as to
ensure a fair playing field for all teams and drivers. “While we regret
that we had to wait this long to announce the location of our finals as we
know that our competitors have to plan ahead of time, we hope they
understand we were trying to take advantage of an opportunity to combine
with our IRL partners in Fontana, but due to certain age restrictions in
connection with the event we couldn’t make the event happen. Fortunately
though, Rich Phillips and the people at Iron Rock Raceway have a first
rate facility and city to welcome us for our finals,” stated series
president Paul Zalud. Rich Phillips of Iron Rock Raceway was excited to
have such a high profile event in his first year of operation, “To have
the finals of the top series in North America in our first season is just
incredible for us, I know we will have a track and facilities that the
series and its competitors will be pleased with.”
Iron Rock Raceway is in its first year of operation and is located just 15
minutes from downtown Austin. Those wishing to learn more about the
facility can go to

EDITORS NOTE:
Coming to Ironrock represents a bold step forward both for Stars and
Ironrock. As Ironrock features a barrier track construction, the
flexibility to alter the layout removes the "Home Track Advantage" factor.
Moreover, Austin weather in October is perfect for racing.
This race comes on the heels of the SWRC
October race with a $4500 Purse. For more information about that
race, see
