IKF Region 7 Southwestern Super
Series
IKF Region 7 has made a spectacular comeback on the West Coast
under the guidance of Don St.Ours. making the second stop of
the season at the temporary circuit of Buffalo Bill's Casino in
Nevada, 345 entries came out for a spectacular weekend. While
California has a huge base of karters to draw upon, the 3 major
series in the area each focus on a specific market segment with
little overlap. The Southwestern Super Series targets the more
costs effective classes with an emphasis on family bonding rather
then hard core racing alone.
This series can be considered a leading edge of racing trends to
sweep eastward. There are growing numbers in every class,
including the 80 Novice Shifters. HPV has long been a staple
of California racing and the numbers probably have the IAME factory
working overtime. A well proven package based on the venerable
Komet K71, HPV is enjoying strong growth in California.
