News from circuit d'Angerville near Paris France on the Championships of Europe August 24-25 2002

ICA

In his first year in the very competitive Formula ICA class, 16 year old Jonathon Thonon of Belgium came home first taking the 2002 European ICA Championship.  Starting from outside on the fifth row for the final, Jonathon managed to pick his way through the traffic to dice with Filipe Albuquerque of Portugal, and Gary Catt of Great Britain.

Jonathon and Phillipe were mounted on nearly identical CRG Chassis with Maxtor power.  Also strong in the early contention was Jean-Michel Carton of France aboard a Kosmic chassis with Vortex power until a water pump problem converted the two stroke to steam power.  Despite the mechanical problems, managed a respectable 5th in perhaps the most watched motorsport traing league for up & coming F1 "pilots".

The race featured 26 laps around the spectacular circuit d'Angerville between .7-.8 miles in length.
