Race 15 80cc Shifter Report

The Johnson brothers thought this would be the one.  One of them was bound to take home the Rock for 80cc.  While John grabbed the pole, Adam forgot to mount his transponder and with the two running together like they were chained, its sad to see Adam miss out.  Especially since this is the second class qualifying went foul for him.  Chris "Action" Jackson for the first time this year did not find himself on the pole.  Derek Denman normally filming these events on the sidelines, dusted off his old 80cc, bolted a stock cylinder and mounted the Kartweb onboard camera system.  Even then he still managed a respectable 5th place qualification run.

Although the 80cc's were run with the exhibition class of Bilands, the two races will be reported separately.

At the drop of the green, everyone made a good start, and Adam Johnson quickly began to carve his way through the field.  Jackson finally seemed to have found the missing pieces for his set up and was all over John Johnson like a cheap suit.  Catching and passing were two different things.  Both are exceptionally clean drivers so all Chris could do was wait for a mistake.  One of the slower Bilands slowed the entry of Johnson out of a turn, and Jackson had him just like that.  The two stayed nose to tail while a faster Adam Johnson continued to slowly reel them both in.
