Rock Island Preliminary News
As of 8:00 AM of August 27 there were 345 entries, 232 drivers representing 23 states, 2 provinces and France. Safe to say this will be a huge turnout.
Alan Rudolph who is to Rock Island what Al Unser is to Long Beach, will be looking for another win on his Franklin Motorsports Yamaha powered PCR.
Scott Speed will make an appearance driving for JM Racing. Jean Marchioni will be along to help tune. Preston Peebles will be on a new ride, the Arrows chassis provided by CRC racing. Too many top guns to mention, simply gonna be a great show!

Saturday practice will be in short sessions with qualifier runs in the afternoon. 15 cars will be on the track with 7 laps for qualifying.
Sunday will begin practice at 8:30 and could run as late as 10:30. Consolation races will begin at or before 10:30, depending on the number of consolation races. There will only be 30 cars in the feature races, and the top 25 qualifiers are guaranteed a start. The remaining drivers will contest in consolation races with the final 5 for each feature to be the top 5 finishers. Lunch break and the Drivers parade will begin at 12:00, and the races start at 1:00 PM.
Who will be this years King of the Streets?
Rolling Thunder Multimedia Productions will be filming to produce a video of the 4 best races from 6 camera angles. We have two on-board cameras (more if the vendor can deliver in time). We will update the site as quickly as possible.
