Race 6 Rotax Max Race Report
Given the equal power plants of this class, it would have been certain to assume that qualifying times would have been extremely close, but the top 15 were separated by a margin of 7 seconds. The bookies favorite was Tim Lobaugh and in qualifying Tim delivered a pole winning lap. Jordan Musser coming off a string of victories in the south came away from qualifying disappointed. Sara Hyslop another favored contender could only manage a top 5 qualifying spot. Given the popularity of Rotax it was surprising that only 17 entered this prestigious race.

The race was anything but dull. On the first turn and lap, over half the field wanted the same real estate reslting in a major pie-up. A complete restart was given, but 5 karts were left with axles too bent to continue. Most of those involved in the shunt continued on the restart, and two hopped around the track like "broke-leg-mules" from mildly bent axles.
Having gotten a little more sleep Saturday Night (after driving into Saturday Morning to arrive) Jordan Musser pushed his used Tony Extreme to the limit and caught then passed Tim Lobaugh na Mack McCormick who were dicing for the lead.. Tim, Mark and Jordan traded positions a few times, but once Jordan got back into the lead a second time, he ran on the ragged edge to capture a comfortable 1+ second lead.
Attrition continued to take its toll on the rest of the pack. At the end of 20 laps, only 6 cars remained of the original 20.
Watch for Jordan to carry the on board Kartweb camera in the future.
