Thursday Oct 31 Ron White, Nick Bussel, Chris Jackson, and Alan Sciutio all dressed up for Halloween, and put on their Polesitter costumes. The times separating SuperPro qualifiers were measured in the hundreds, thousandths, or sometimes not at all as 6th place Kyle Martin and 7th place Danny DiLeo took a dead heat qualifying time of 44.977. S1 was close to, as the top 33 all qualified on the same second. Moving up from Formula 80 Jr is Wade Van Hoosier, and coming from KT100 classes is Mark Dismore Jr. Both qualified respectably. After falling off the mark at the World Finals, Chris "Action" Jackson came alive in qualifying putting his Maranello on the pole by the largest margin in all the classes qualified today. With 37 entries, it was one of the largest fields of K1 assembled this year. Fifty-three Formula 80 Jrs took to the timer for qualifying with the first 28 on the same second. Alan Sciuto gave no surprises as the top qualifier. Jonathon Beason coming off his Rotax Jr win the week before managed 16th, not bad for someone that only runs a shifter on occasion. Wednesday Oct 30
Tuesday Oct 29 With Practice opening on Tuesday at the 7/10 mile 14 turn track, drivers gave high marks on the spectacular layout. Low times so far were on the edge of the 46/47 second mark. Ample runoff area, and the the new barriers offer superior safety over haybales. The track was designed with passing in mind everywhere. Additional news and photos available from SKUSA |
